Noxfeld
Noxfeld is a small town on the eastern border of Aarden, located immediately opposite the Pelmoore River from the Fade. While the river itself acts as a natural barrier between the town and the fade, they've also constructed a tall wall around their city that has stood for centuries. Prior to the breach, the city of Noxfeld covered land on both sides of the river - however the eastern half of the town was dismantled in the early days of the Fades expansion, and its materials were used to create the wall that now protects the town proper.
Those who died on the eastern shores of the Pelmoore are seen by the town as martyrs rather than victims, and the wall's early haphazard construction from mismatched materials has been reinforced, but left alone aesthetically, to serve as a constant reminder of their sacrifice and of the cost of the Fade.
Noxfeld is known across the eastern frontier towns to be very unfriendly to outsiders, at times even turning them away. The West Empire Company maintains a depot in the town, however, their traders and escorts dread assignments heading in that direction knowing the general distrust they'll be faced with. Even Noxfeld University, historically recognized as a prestigious and welcoming place of education for engineering students, is now well-known to be incredibly exclusive, catering mostly to locals and only the most ambitious - and discreet - applicants.

Aarden Campaign Story Progression
On arriving to the town's northern gate, the party was stopped by a guard and asked a few questions about their intentions, desired length of stay, and eventual destination. When they were approved to enter the town, they were given rather strict instructions to leave the townsfolk alone and to stay within public areas. In no uncertain terms they were also told that they would be expected to leave in the morning, but that they were welcome to stay within the safety of Noxfeld's walls for the night.
