Crest is an important city for the Empire, despite it's relatively small size. Located on an island northwest of Vezenhold, Crest serves as a border crossing back and forth to the member nation, Seftmire. A tremendously important trade and shipping location, Crest is overseen by an Imperial Trade council, and the Imperial appointed Governor of the Northeastern Reach, Lord Reginald Blackwood. Meetings between representatives between the two financial giants are typically scheduled here, as well as the increasingly rare, but nevertheless important, meetings with delegations sent from the nations across the sea, Umbria, Tunerica, and the Golden Isles.

Despite Vezenhold's position on the northern coast, Crest is also the largest shipping port in the Empire. It's position on the Trans-Imperial Rail Line and it's location on the edge of the Sea of Serpents makes it strategically well positioned to manage freight and the distribution of goods towards Seftmire or the rest of the Empire.

Important People

Lord Reginald Blackwood

The Imperial Appointed Governor, Lord Blackwood has held the position of Governor over the Northeastern Reach for ten years. Residing in Akerton and rubbing elbows with the city's elite has afforded him the clout and reputation he needs in the capital to maintain the cushy position, although most of the work that calls for his attention lies in the border city of Crest, to the north. His ability to charm the wealthy elite may be all that is keeping him in the highly sought-after position, however, as his reputation with the Seftmirian representatives in Crest is the complete opposite. Pompous, unreliable, and aloof, Blackwood is regarded as one more likely to hold a garden party for Vezenhold's upper class than to attend important trade meetings in Crest.

Mayor Nathaniel Cross

The locally elected Mayor, Nathaniel Cross, is currently serving his first term as the people's representative in Crest. The position is contentious and sees a lot of turnover in that it bears many of the responsibilities held by the oft-absent Governor, as well as those traditionally held by a Mayor, and as a result of the associated stress, many Mayors serve only a single term. Cross is a strong-willed man, however, and his dedication to the position is promising. Outgoing and intelligent, many believe the friendly face put on by the Mayor publicly belies a politically ambitious man seeking to leverage his position into one within the Imperial Government.

Ivan Petronovich

The Seftmirian Ambassador, Ivan Petronovich, is a walking caricature of Seftmirian culture. He eats Seftmirian food, drinks Seftmirian wine and spirits, and smokes Seftmirian cigarettes. All three of which are made exclusively from the Seftmirian Kirtski mushrooms, and are for the most part quickly abandoned by Seftmirians who leave their homeland. Regaling anyone who will listen on the complexities and variety of earth tones in fine Seftmirian Vodka, the eccentric Petronovich is well-liked within Crest despite an occasionally contentious relationship with the member nation he represents. The larger-than-life man stands out anywhere he goes, luxuriously dressed and boisterously loud, in stark contrast to the rest of the citizens of Crest.

Alexander Harrington

The Imperial Trade Council's representative in Crest, Alexander Harrington appears as a soft-spoken and gentle man, who earned his position on the merit of his intelligence, sharp wit, and cunning methodology. Like many wealthy people within the merchant class, Harrington's efforts are entirely self-serving, however unlike many of the aforementioned, he doesn't seek to hide it behind nauseating displays of pseudo-patriotism or Imperial sycophancy. What's good for the Empire is good for him, and as a result, Harrington makes sure that he, in turn, is good for the Empire.

Dockmaster Marcus Finch

From running notes back and forth as a child to managing an entire section of the massive shipping port, Marcus Finch has worked at the Docks of Crest for his entire life. Tall, muscular, and with a handlebar moustache that'd make your grandfather blush, Finch is easily recognizable anywhere he goes. A local favourite and dockside-tavern regular, if anything's happening at the docks - Marcus knows about it. If anything's happening at the docks that might be on the shady or illegal side, Marcus has a part in it. If anything's happening at the docks that might screw over those dirt-eaters up North, Marcus started it.
